Big Rad Wolf: The Rise & Fall of American Apparel

From October 2019 through November of 2020 I was working on a 9 episode doc series about the rise and fall of American Apparel, and its controversial founder, Dov Charney. Our core team was really small but everyone pulled more than their weight on this one, truly. It's called Big Rad Wolf & you could have watched it on Quibi, but it’s no longer around anymore. Our show launched… and they next they announced they were going under. So that was a bit of a bummer but it can now be found on Roku!

Directors: Eva Gunz (7 episodes) & Edward McGurn (2 episodes) of GNZ Projects - http://www.gunzprojects.com/

Last Looks

A Quibi true crime series based on crime stories in and around the people in the fashion world. I worked exclusively on the recreations which were directed by Jora Francis and shot just like you’d imagine… like a high-fashion music video. It was a wild ride and a fun one to work on. You can now stream it on Roku.

Jonathan Scott’s POWER TRIP

Line Producer for the feature documentary Jonathan Scott’s Power Trip by Jonathan Scott & Neil Berkeley.

Simply put, it’s about energy independence for all.

We traveled the US confronting those at the root of the issue and met the everyday citizens fighting against a deeply entrenched, powerful system that’s waging war against the solar industry—and against the rights of the people who want to choose how they power their lives. Jonathan Scott’s Power Trip will infuriate, enrage, and compel you to take action to make solar energy a global reality.

The film is premiering Monday, November 16th 2020 on PBS as part of their Independent Lens series.

EARTHWORKS

VICELAND

A limited television series where we explore environmental issues through a few of our favorite musicians. If an environmental education course and a music video made a baby.... you'd get this!

It's pretty crazy what we pulled off for this series. Not only did Animal Collective, Miguel, and Local Natives compose and record music live in the amazon, desert, and the crater of a volcano, but we filmed them while doing it! Animal Collective took it a step further and ultimately released an EP titled "Meeting of the Waters" in May 2017 of all the songs composed and recorded in the Amazon.

If you have the time... you should watch. :)

101: ANIMAL COLLECTIVE

THE AMAZON

102: MIGUEL

INDUSTRIAL FARMING & MEXICO

103:LOCAL NATIVES

COLORADO RIVER

EARTHWORKS MAIN TITLES

Creating the opening main titles for the @viceland show Earthworks was a serious rollercoaster but I'm so proud of the end result. We worked with main title legends, @digitalkitchen, the agency responsible for the main titles for True Blood, Dexter and Narcos. All the instruments were captured in studio with a Phantom. The music was scored by @localnatives so make sure you watch with the sound on and check out the show on @viceland! .

NBC SPORTS

A four episode mini-series following Olympic snowboarding hopefuls Hailey Langland, Julia Marino, and Zoe Kalapos through the Olympic qualifiers and ultimately to Pyeongchang 2018.

FOX + RED SPARROW: STATE OF MANIPULATION

In partnership with Fox + Red Sparrow + Vice, Karley Sciortino sat down with Joe Navarro to talk about body language and espionage in the world today. This piece only touches the surface on the vast knowledge and understanding Joe has on the subject. Admittedly, I've been a fan girl of his for many years and recommend his books if you're into the subjects. It was a pleasure to work with the entire Fox + Vice teams to make this piece a reality.

Go see Red Sparrow - Out 3/2/18!

LA's Chicano culture has changed the world, impacting everything from cars to music to fashion. This is the story of how some of the most prominent Angelenos are pushing culture forward and making an impact around the globe.

The Nike Cortez launched in 1972 as the company's first track shoe, immediately adopted by many athletes in the 1972 Olympics, the Cortez became the new shoe company's first hit. A few years later, they reached pop culture fame when Farrah Fawcett wore them skateboarding in a famous photo shoot. By the late 80s, Nike's running shoes had advanced significantly, yet they still made the iconic Cortez, and the sneaker began a new life as the shoe of choice for LA Chicanos.

2017 marked the 45 anniversary of the Cortez, and in recent years the shoe has seen a renaissance, from being featured in Vogue as a fashion icon to a spotlight moment in the famously anti-gang Kendrick Lamar's hit music video "Be Humble." But none of this current fame would be possible without the cultural street cred that shoe got from becoming part of the LA Chicano uniform. As part of the anniversary, the internationally celebrated Chicano artist Mr. Cartoon created three new Cortez color ways. To support the launch, Nike asked VICE to tell the story of the impact LA's distinct Chicano culture has had around the world
